Before The Last Resort
Project Description
Before The Last Resort is a collection of three necklaces, designed and handmade by me, Matthew Roland Bannister. The necklaces are an homage to three of my favourite designers; Charles Eames, Ray Eames, and George Nelson, and were designed both as a tribute and as a reminder to aspire to their impeccable standards.
Handmade with the highest quality of materials, each necklace salutes one of the three designers, and is named after their home town. The necklaces can be purchased in the right-hand column for $65.
Sacramento will be made of: Two hand-painted solid maple balls; the first is 1" in diameter and painted a pale grey, and the second is 1.5" in diameter, painted a soft pink, and gold-plated to its cross-section by hand. These two spheres are then attached to custom-made white powder-coated steel bolts, which are then threaded onto a gold-plated chain. Sacramento comes packaged in a sturdy hand-stamped box.
Hartford will be made of: Three hand-painted solid maple balls; the first two are 1" in diameter and painted a muted orange and dark grey respectively, and the second is 1.5" in diameter and painted a natural green. These three spheres are then attached to custom-made white powder-coated steel bolts, which are then threaded onto a length of natural leather cord. Hartford comes packaged in a sturdy hand-stamped box.
St. Louis will be made of: Two hand-painted solid maple balls; the first is 1" in diameter and painted a dark blue, and the second is 1.5" in diameter, painted a soft blue, and gold-plated with green-gold to its cross-section by hand. These two spheres are then attached to custom-made white powder-coated steel bolts, which are then threaded onto a dark coloured chain. St. Louis comes packaged in a sturdy hand-stamped box.
