One More Thing Q&A Series
Project Description
Are you interested in hearing Australia's best iOS developers talk about their path to App Store success?
We want to develop an online TV show to support new startups and solo iOS developers. We will interview some amazing iOS developers about what it takes to do well in this industry, and some of the unexpected challenges that come up.
I'm Anthony Agius, but better known as decryption on Twitter, the MacTalk forums and a bunch of other places all across the Internet. A few weeks ago, my friend Lauren and I put on a little conference called One More Thing here in Melbourne, where 160 people attended to hear 11 of Australia's best iOS developers talk about their path to App Store success. The conference went well, which was great and many people have emailed me to say that they have a new resolve to launch or finish their iOS projects, and try to be as cool as our speakers. Which is exactly why we put the conference on!
Now, part of that conference was a 1 hour Q&A session with the 11 speakers. We had over 100 questions submitted on the day, but due to time constraints, we were only able to have less than a dozen answered, which really sucked.
What I want to do with your hard earned money is make a 5-episode online TV series with the speakers from One More Thing and get them to answer as many iOS development related questions as humanly possible. To do that at the quality the community deserves and at a level I would be proud of, I need $25,000. Why $25,000? Here's an approximate budget:
ONE OFF COSTS
- Web Design - $3,000
- Motion Graphics - $1,750
- Set Design - $1,500
- Marketing & Promotion - $2,500
- SUB-TOTAL: $8,750
PER EPISODE COSTS
- Flights, Accommodation and Expenses for Guests - $800
- Set Hire - $500
- A/V Equipment Hire (cameras, lighting, sound)- $2,000
- SUB-TOTAL: $3,300
So as you can see, it gets expensive to put on a high quality production! I don't plan to make a profit off the show. Unless the project exceeds the funding target, I won't make a cent. All raised funds will be put into the development of the show and promoting it. I just want to cover the costs to get it made, enjoy the experience, produce a show I can be proud of and create a valuable information source for those wanting to be indie iOS developers.
If this sounds like an idea you want to support, or think you'd get a lot of info from, pledge your support!
