SHE RAW (The 41 Womens Portraits)
Project Description
The SHE RAW, 41 Womens Portraits photographic project began in late of 2010, it aims to document everyday women within a state of fantasy whilst drawing directly from their real-life experience and context.
This series of photographic portraits uncovers fascinations of the many engaging mysteries and hidden truths which lie, often undiscovered, beneath a woman’s skin. By drawing intimacies and challenges, self-reflection propels us into the untold relationships we have with ourselves and the women around us, giving us further insight into the contrasts of external beauty and internal sanctums.
As with “women who run with wolves” these women roar.

The complete collection of photographs will be exhibited at Blak Dot Gallery in East Brunswick from the 3rd until the 13th of May 2012, as well as published in a book which will be launched at the exhibition opening.

Early prints from this project were chosen to be part of a group exhibition at 'off the Kerb gallery & studios' in December 2011 and won the People’s Choice Award for The Focus Project 2011.
Proceeds from the collection will help a truly worthwhile cause, with 50% of profits from the sale of the book going to White Ribbon, a charitable organisation that works towards the prevention of violence against women.
In order to make this inspiring project a reality, I am appealing for assistance with the costs associated with exhibiting, printing and publishing. Pozible Crowdfunding has been kind enough to support this project and will be hosting an appeal for support until the 11th of February 2012. The goal is to raise $3,000 within the coming months with an ‘all or nothing’ approach. Donors at all different levels will receive acknowledgement, with top contributors receiving a signed copy of the published SHE RAW book.
If the SHE RAW pledge reaches $4000 by the 11th of February 2012, I will be giving away ten signed copies of the SHE RAW book to the ten highest donors.
Please feel free to forward this appeal to your friends and colleagues.
Warm Regards,
