We have been hard at work on Loopy Lost His Lettuce over the last couple of months. Here are some of the latest screenshots :)

Description

Loopy Lost his Lettuce is an interactive children's book for iphone, ipad and android devices.

Loopy the snail lost his lettuce and he needs your help to find it! Help him travel through the four seasons and meet a range of colourful characters along the way. Featuring 28 pages and 7 mini-games Loopy the snail is a fun, unique and creative adventure into the world of crazy crochet creatures!

The art style of Loopy the snail is designed in the extremely unique and colourful art form called freeform crochet. All objects and creatures have been individually hand-made. Once crafted photos of them are taken in our studio, they are then animated by computer before added into the development software.

 

Team

Development of Loopy Lost his Lettuce is a joint venture between two individuals based in Adelaide, South Australia. One involved in graphic design and programming, the other a fashion designer and crafts enthusiast who currently runs the online fashion store Twizzlez www.twizzlez.com. Through their passion of all things creative they have come together to create an unique interactive media project involving a blend of both of their talents.

Having recently established their own independent game and interactive media studio, they already have plans for a range of interactive children's books and games set within the amazingly unique crazy crochet universe!

Current Status

Work on Loopy Lost his Lettuce has been ongoing for many months, the design and construction of the story, characters, layout, game design and most coding has been completed. Sound effects, voice over and music is now being created, very soon it will be ready for beta testing.

A lot of time has been dedicated to the project, the freeform crochet used within the game in itself is a slow process, with Loopy the Snail him self taking over 30 dedicated hours to construct!

The design of Loopy Lost his Lettuce is a very unique product for the mobile marketplace. Feedback already received from the development version has been extremely positive. Children love the colourful and happy world which Loopy the snail inhabits.

Some of the features of the game

· Over 28 individual pages of the interactive story. Each with separate animations and unique sound effects.

· Travel with Loopy the snail through the four different seasons and see the environment change.

· Meet a range of different characters along the way, including Mumma Butterfly, Sneaky Squirrel, Rainbow Worm, Mr. Snowman and the Bumbly Bee.

· 7 mini-games to play as you journey through the game, these include helping loopy the snail find butterflies, collect nuts, rebuild Mr. Snowman, sorting snow flakes + more.

· 3 Difficulty levels aimed at different age groups.

· Option of “Read to me” or “Read yourself”.

· Original music

 

What is required

Development of the game has been self-funded,but before it is possible to release the game a few hardware items and licensing software needs to be acquired which is hoped Pozible Crowd Funding can help us obtain. To be able to publish the game to the apple store and android marketplace without ads the full development software used to make Loopy lost his lettuce as well an apple developer account needs to be purchased.

 

What if we make more

If we pass our funding target we will be able to buy more advanced sound and graphic software which will allow us to improve the speed it takes to make the project. It will also help us buy materials for future books we have planned in the crochet creature range.
