If you have been to Dragon Dreaming, Regrowth, an Off Tap event, Art not Apart or a multitude of other Canberra based events over the last few years, you may have enjoyed the art of Victoria Lees. Last month during the Regrowth festival, Victoria created a string art sculpture in the valley above the main stage which was illuminated by 5 UV flower lights. These lights were hand made by her and unfortunately, on Sunday at sunset they were stolen.
But rather than be upset about the loss of the lights we are looking to our community to help Victoria replace them. The purpose of this project is to provide Victoria with the funds to not just recreate this art but to improve on the concept and make them much better than she had the resources to do before. The original lights were not very powerful, not water proof and were made with the limited materials that Victoria had available at the time. This project will address this.
The breakdown of what she needs is as follows:
$1850 - 5 UV Canon lights, water proof and with replacement globes
$340 - Heavy duty, outdoor rated extension cords to power the lights to a range of 50 metres
$820 - Art supplies including multiple colours of water proof UV ink, high quality screen printing material, wire, connectors, etc
$240 - Crowdfunding expenses
Let us show that the local Doof community care about each other and support each other. You contribution is greatly appreciated. Let's all enjoy this art together.
