Dear fans of ‘Hunter: The Documentary,’ after the privilege of spending so much time with Hunter over the last year of his life, shooting on the documentary has sadly come to an end with Hunter’s passing. Unfortunately, after countless hours submitting proposals to the ABC and SBS, we have not been able to secure any broadcaster funding to finish the film.

However, rest assured this film is going to get made - we feel we owe it to Hunter for letting us into his life, to his son Marley, and to all of you. We have over 40 hours of professionally shot footage with Hunter, showing how he refused to give up and threw himself into his music harder than ever after his diagnosis. We also have hard-drives full of Hunter’s own self shot footage (some amazing stuff in there!), plenty of kick ass music of course, plus Hunter’s tweets & YouTube raps, and heaps of excellent interviews with some of the big names of Aussie Hip Hop. We feel this film is going to be something special and embody the unique culture from which it emerged, but we need your help.

We have put together a minimum budget required to hire a professional editor and effects team, produce and print DVDs, hire cinemas for public screenings, and submit the film internationally to film festivals – it’ll be tight, but we think we can do all that for $15000.

We are asking for donations to help get our project finished and out in the world where it deserves to be. None of that donated money will go to the producer or director, who will continue donating their time to our documentary project. All donations of $25 and over will be rewarded with some exclusive prizes!

We would like to state very clearly that Hunter did not want people or his fans to continue donating to charity on his behalf. Hunter’s sole charitable aim was to make and produce a CD “Australian Hip Hop Supports CanTeen” in hope that the Australian public would by it and raise some funds for CanTeen at the same time. This documentary, although it is about Hunter is not Hunter’s, and is not affiliated with the SBX for Charity. It is an independent Periscope Pictures production that Hunter was happy to be the subject of, but is not linked to him or his estate and remains the property of Periscope Pictures.

Periscope Pictures are asking for the general public to donate to this film because we have exhausted all other avenues to receive the necessary funding to get it finished. We are asking people to donate to this film simply because they want to see it made. Periscope pictures will be donating part proceeds, if there is any, to CanTeen, because this project has brought us closer to the plight of young people facing cancer.

The way Pozible works is that if we don’t get the $15000, all the money will be returned to the donors – that’s because we need a budget of at least that amount to be able to honour our pledge of bringing that film to you. However it is a very low budget, and if we get over $15000 all extra money will be put directly into making the film even better, with more money spent on more editing time, producing titles, artwork, graphics, effects etc etc. Also, if we can get it finished independently, there is still a chance that SBS or ABC will decide to play it on TV sometime and we can get this story out there to the Australian Public. We’ll also see if we can somehow get it on American TV to show them some real rapping!

Please help us make our film happen by donating and spreading the word!
