THE PROJECT:

'night maybe' is the latest work from Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre; the acclaimed company whose previous creations include 'The Apocalypse Bear Trilogy', 'The Eisteddfod' and 'The Black Swan of Trespass'.

THE PLAY:

You’re already lost. What’s a bit further?

Watch the show trailer...

Tom abandons his sister Sasha by the side of the road. She plunges headlong into the night. Her search for him takes her to a park, an alleyway, a riverbank... even to the far reaches of Siberia. As she hunts him down, Sasha peels back the layers of their shifting relationship, past gender, sexuality and both their bodies. But as Sasha discovers, looking in someone’s true face means you might have to see your own...

'night maybe' is a funny, vicious and disturbing freefall through the subconscious, couched in a suburban landscape suffused with threat and mystery.

THE COMPANY:

Stuck Pigs Squealing is a Melbourne based company that has been creating and touring dynamic, distinctive and challenging theatre productions since 2001. The company has developed a national and international reputation presenting work in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, New York and Paris, receiving many awards and praise for its bold aesthetic and rigorous investigation of theatrical form.

Stuck Pigs Squealing explores the mythic structures that lie beneath the surface of domestic and suburban reality. Their work immerses audiences into worlds surprising and uncertain, where the potential of the imagination may be harnessed in the creation of unlikely futures.

“The company is not interested in conventional, neatly packaged plays but in high-spirited, raw and poetic works that explore human nature at its most difficult, comical and depraved.” (Sydney Morning Herald)

THE PART WHERE YOU COME IN:

The funds raised through this campaign are specifically for the concrete production elements of the project, so we can design and build the set, costume and lighting for the show.

Your contribution will materialise physically on stage as part of the beautiful world created by our designer Mel Page, and lit by Richard Vabre.

The visual landscape you will help us create is a dreamlike amalgam of suburban childhood experience, and imaginings of the past.

A place where everyday spaces become strange and threatening, and those closest to us appear at once as known and as strangers.

Hopefully these images serve to show you some of the inspiration behind the design, and how your involvement will be realised.

We would love you to be a part of this new Australian work and we have an array of wonderful gifts on the RHS of the page, in return for your support.

If you need any further information about the project, please feel free to contact our producer, Eleanor Howlett (Sassy Red Productions) and she'll get back to you post haste.
