Welcome to Battlemage!

Battlemage is a fantasy miniatures skirmish game set in the violent world of Ra’al. Centuries ago the world fell to the forces of evil and left in ruin. The evil forces have long since moved on to new conquests, new worlds to destroy, but Ra’al remains a wild and war-torn land. Small bands of soldiers roam the wilderness, led by mighty heroes who are trying to gain power and fortune to further their own goals. These bands often clash with each other and fierce rivalries have developed over the years.

In Battlemage, you lead one of these warbands into battle against other warbands. You become the mighty hero, leading his or her loyal followers to death or glory.

Battlemage will be released in regular downloadable issues, each one presenting you with new rules and options to include in your games. This issue gives you a very basic overview of the game and lets you play your first battle, using step by step instructions; if you have never played a miniatures game before, you should find this no trouble at all to follow.

The funds raised for this project will go towards artwork, editing and layout for the first few issues of this e-zine. From there, the project will hopefully fund itself with money made from the first issues. The first issue will be free; the following issues will have a small cost attached.

The author, Shane Garvey, has been involved in the gaming industry for a number of years. He is best known for the Fabled Lands role-playing game, the QUERP role-playing game, and Chronicles of Arax solo adventure game.
