Hello friends and supporters of local hip hop!
I`m very excited to let you all know that I`m hitting the studio in Sept to complete my debut hip hop album Life Sounds Like, which will be released in October 2015. Woo hoo - at last!
Life Sounds Like with be a full length album with a mix of brand new original songs never before heard, a handful of songs from my Bows Don`t Go soundtrack, along with some gems I`ve been performing live, which have never been recorded and released. Of course, it will be a reflection of my very own unique brand of feminine hip hop which I`ve developed for your listening pleasure.
I`ll be in the studio with my trustee mate and West Australian producer/engineer/DJ extraordinaire, Mr Rob Shaker. The album with also feature collaborations other WA talents such as Optamus (Downsyde), Aysha Amani (The Amani Consort), Tom O`Halloran, Mei Saraswati, Creed Birch and The apprentice. What a fine bunch of creative musicians! The album will also showcase photos by the very skilled Jess Leebold, and artwork and design by the multi-talented Meng Jones.
I am a 100% independent and self-managed and in the past, my musical projects have always been self-funded. This isn`t really an option for me at the moment and as being a full time parent doesn`t exactly pay big bucks! The first single to this album was released all the way back in May 2014 so it has been a slow moving project. I`m hoping with your help, I can finally complete the album and release it for you all to enjoy!
I`ve set my Pozible Campaign target at $1500. This is nowhere near the actual total cost of the project, but it will of course be a vital contribution. All the money raised through Pozible will go towards such things as:
Recording
Mixing
Mastering
Pressing and Printing of 500 albums
Album artwork and design
