Sonny Spells used to be on Television, and now he lives in Australia and is a roving reporter for 4ZZZ's Queer Radio. In 2011 he took the Eurovision media by storm at the Dusseldorf Eurovision Song Contest. This year, he's going to do it all again! And he needs your help to do it!
4ZZZ is a community radio station, which basically means it runs on the smell of an oily rag - heading on fun filled and exciting trips to cover European trashy music contests doesn't get much of the budget cut. So, we're looking to you - people who enjoy trashy Euro-pop and a great performance art work to help get Sonny to Eurovision.
Your generous donations will allow us to represent the Brisbane media contingent at Eurovision in 2013. You might wonder - why would Australia be interested in a European pop contest. Simply: Eurovision is one of the oldest and largest song contests and concerts in the world. It plays host to over 50 countries, and is watched live by hundreds of millions of people around Europe and the world. Also Eurovision is one of the largest GLBT events in the world, with hundreds of gay men and women flocking to Eurovision for the festival event - and yes, some of them even perform!

Sonny and his team will be speaking with the international participants of Eurovision each day and will be updating the Sonny Spells website with daily video updates and interviews as well as twitter and facebook with the daily happenings at Eurovision. Sonny will also be providing interviews for 4ZZZ radio twice on the Queer Radio program during the festival. Sonny will also be hunting out and speaking with the Australian fans who make the long trip to Eurovision each year (in 2011 over 50 Australian fans were there for every show in Dusseldorf).

As a supporter of this project, we will keep you updated with daily updates on the event both here and on the Sonny Spells website, through the Sonny Spells and Queer Radio facebook pages and Twitter feeds.
It's estimated it will cost about $16,000 to get Sonny and the team to Sweden for the 16 days of Eurovision - we're hoping to raise at least $8000 through this campaign. These funds will be used to cover transport, equipment, accommodation expenses and of course providing our supporters with their amazing rewards!
To donate to this great performance event is simple. Just choose the reward you want and click the donate button. Your donation can be made with credit card or Paypal and doesn't get processed until at least the end date of our campaign, and only when we have attained our goal of $8000.00. Please give your support today and share with your friends - or consider becoming a promoter of our campaign with the links above.
Thanks for your support!
