Ray-Lee's going to Hollywood
16yr old Cairns songstress Ray-Lee has been singing since she could talk and playing music since she was 7.
Her debut EP ‘Life Is Different’ was released in December 2011 with several tracks shortlisted for the Australian Songwriters Contest, "Starting Line" finishing in the Top 10 of the Youth category.
Drawing on influences such as Julia Stone & Emma Louise, Ray-Lee has been performing her folk pop tunes at local venues for 2 years gathering a collection of talent and songwriter awards; and has been spreading her wings across Australia including an appearance at the Relay For Live concert in Melbourne.
"Ray-Lee delivers a haunting collection of six songs for her debut EP, showing maturity and developed songwriting well beyond her 15 years"-Jesse Kuch, Time Out; Cairns Post
Ray-Lee has been selected to join the Australian Team to compete in Hollywood in the World Championships of Performing Arts in the Singer/Songwriter section. To achieve this dream she needs to fundraise to get there. She can be found busking on the streets of Cairns most days and also gigging as much as possible to help raise the finances to get her to America. This opportunity will help Ray-Lee finetune her performance as a singer and songwriter by sharing this experience with learning from workshops, bootcamps and other performers competing from all over the world.
