Calico. is a student organisation comprised of 2nd and 3rd year RMIT Fashion Design students who bring about the end of year runway showcase.
This year the runway aims to showcase work from the 120 students who make up the 2nd & 3rd years of the RMIT Fashion Program. The showcase itself is a platform for students to share their work with people outside of the course as well as providing critical professional development in the way of runway production and the ability to present 'runway ready' garments. As Calico. also endeavours to support the emerging nature of the 2nd & 3rd year work alternative display methods including film and installation are incorporated into the production.
The current budget for this year's showcase is approximately $5000 in liquid cash with a supporting $1000-$3000 in in-kind sponsorship. In order to raise the required $5000 collaborative fundraising events such as The Subtle Party (https://www.facebook.com/events/381341345271797/) have been a wonderful contribution to fundraising for our event. In applying to Pozible we aim to open up the opportunities for external support for people who cannot be part of other fundraising events.
