Buying Milk is an Australian Short Film Production - Drama/Black Comedy
Have you ever wanted your name in the credits of a film?
Do you just want to be a part of a great Short Film?
Well we have got the project for you to make all your dreams come true!!!
SYNOPSIS
A drama/black comedy Buying Milk follows Ben a man struggling with financial problems, making him act irrationally. An ordinary, gentle family man considers robbing a service station to keep his family going. Without much of a clue Ben stumbles through the evening, culminating in trying to pull off something that isn’t him.
CONCEPT
Harri Robbins (Writer/Director) has delved into his creative mind and written a fantastic dramatic and comedic script which touches the social economic situations people may find themselves in.
The idea for Buying Milk came early last year, as Harri was sitting in his car outside a service station looking in. The city lights where reflecting off the windshield, it was slightly wet from previous rain and he thought it would be a great location for a short film.
Whilst sitting in his car Harri began to ask himself some questions
* If he was to try and pull off a robbery how would he go about it?
* Would he be able to do it?
* What would he use?
This was Harri's premise, a person without a bad bone in his body trying to do something that is surprising even to himself.
A lot has changed since Harri’s first thoughts. Originally a straight up Drama Harri began to realise the comic potential. The character of Ben was quite funny as he stumbles through the evening in question. Buying Milk sensibly balances the drama, comedy genre, allowing for light humorous moments as well as staying gritty and dark in it's dramatic style.
CAMERA
Buying Milk is being filmed with the professional state of the art digital HD RED CAMERA. The RED camera will allow us to capture visually rich and stunning imagery and to do justice to the fabulous script. As well as capturing the exceptionally talented cast we have assembled.
WHY WE'RE CROWDFUNDING
For this project we are looking to raise at least $800. This extra funding will assist with fulfilling the budget we require to successfully complete Buying Milk with the highest production standards.
We have been fortunate enough to receive inkind support and reduced rates for our equipment from RED Camera Hire and Oiga Designs for the limited edition t-shirts.
But we are still needing a little of your help. Every dollar that you pledge towards our project will be spent on production and post production costs.

REACHING OUR GOAL & BEYOND
If we are not successful in reaching our goal of $800 by our due date no money will be changing hands, so we will be extremely grateful for any funding you can afford to contribute.
We will be eternally thankful for all of your contributions and we hope that you enjoy the great awards available for you for your funding.
Even though we have conservatively given ourselves $800 to raise, we hope that it will go beyond that figure. Going beyond this figure will allow us to take the step to have the film professionally colour graded through Digital Pictures in Melbourne as well as giving us a little breathing space for any extras expenses which are bound to pop up.
