R16 is the pre-eminent world competition for breaking. It is prestigious, highly respected and represents the pinnacle of performance for b-boys and b-girls around the globe. In 2012, twenty countries will be competing.
This year, for the first time, Australia will have an opportunity to take part in this exciting event.
The R16 Australian comp will be held at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool on Saturday 19 May, from 11am to 6pm. Breaking crews from around Australia will be travelling to South West Sydney to compete, and to showcase their talents to hundreds of fans. Young people, and others in the local community, will have the opportunity to attend a free event and be inspired by outstanding athletes.
The crew of 8 who win this national championship, will then have the opportunity to represent Australia, and be flown to Taiwan for the next level of the competition.
We need your help to raise funds to pay for 8 international flights for the winners. We have already raised more than $10,000 to help pay for the costs including the venue, international judging fees, equipment, sound and part payment of international flights.
This is a not for profit event, run by Krosswerdz Community Programs. We support hip hop events in the community and run a weekly breaking program for young people in Liverpool.
Please help us make budget so that we can achieve our dream to give eight young Australians a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete on the world stage. |
Guarranted front row seating at the event. The venue has a tiered level of seating. You will have seating reserved in your name for $45 per person, so you can stay as close as possible to the action.
