What's the film about?
Richard is a cool guy. Well, actually, he’s average. OK, he’s a geek. If this was 1991 you could even go so far as to call him a dweeb. He’s engaged to Faith, the last of the truly saccharine control freaks. They’re engaged because she said so, and Richard wasn’t inclined to argue.

On the morning of the most important battle re-enactment on Richard’s calendar, Faith bundles Richard up for a ‘quick’ lunch with her parents in one of those cookie-cutter suburbs in outer Melbourne, where he learns that not only is he expected to ask Faith’s terrifying father for her hand in marriage, but also that he’s been tricked into missing the battle - and will be expected to give up his much loved hobby because it's not listed on Faith’s newly drafted 'life plan' (as opposed to couples singing lessons, the adoption of one South East Asian orphan and membership to the local yacht club, which all made the list).

When Richard tries to protest (something he's never done before), he finds himself locked in an epic battle of wills with the woman he loves, and has to face one of life's difficult questions: is this relationship worth the fight?

Who are we?
Anna O'Donnell - Director
Anna is in her 3rd year at the VCA following years of working in various art department roles. This is her 8th short film, all of which deal with the dynamics of love and relationships, and how it is that we expose those we love the most to the worst parts of ourselves. Anna's an actors director with a keen eye for performance, and is looking forward to making the kind of comedy that makes you laugh at first, and wince later.
Carla McConnell - Associate Producer
Carla has been Producing and Production Managing since 2006 across feature films, shorts and TVCs. She is the director of Face Five Productions and currently has two of her projects screening at Dungog Film Festival.
Carla believes the short film format is a great way to hone the talent of young Australian filmmakers and prepare them for features.

Who's in it?
Eddie Baroo - 'Beaconsfield', 'Australia'
Lulu McClatchy - 'Bogan Pride', 'Not Suitable for Children'

We have food on the table, cameras in store and script in it's final stages. What we would like is to make it 'pop'. Your funds will go towards paying talent, extra art department budget, lighting equipment and post-production, including professional editing advice.

Aww jebus! You again?! OK, I was saving this one for a rainy day, but it seems it's time. You get all that $200 guff, PLUS (and here's where it gets good) your 'thanks' in the credits gets upgraded to 'special thanks'. Now calm down. Stay in your seat and practice your breathing because you'll also be getting your own private two course meal, personally cooked by the director, served to you and a friend anywhere in Melbourne.
