A SELL-OUT FIRST SEASON!
Bijou's Secret had a sell out first season.
Big thankyous to all those who generously contributed to the last Bijou's Secret Pozible campaign earlier this year. We had full houses every night and by the end we were having to turn people away!
I am so excited to be continuing on this journey; producing and performing a piece of my own work in a great new space, The Founder's Room at the historical Salamanca Place in Hobart. I hope you will be inspired to come on the trip with me.
Bijou's Secret is a one woman musical play about grief, art and healing. Three generations of women, inextricably entwined, share with us how they each navigate their way through loss, terror and uncertainty. Audiences have told me that it is a powerful and universal story; one which embraces both humour and tragedy.

So after the success of the first season, I'm doing another week of performances of Bijou's Secret here in Tasmania, playing from Wednesday the 7th through to Sunday the 11th of November 2012, before taking it to Melbourne in March of next year. (more details later) I know there were a whole lot of people here in Tasmania who didn't get to see Bijou's Secret last time, so reserve your seats now by pledging a $50 double pass for one of the six performances that will take place at the new Founder's Room at the Salamanca Arts Centre.
Bijou's Secret history
2009 - wrote the first draft, supported by Arts Tasmania
2010 - won a competition with Playwriting Australia and did a 3 day creative studio with director, Kate Gaul from Siren Theatre, Sydney
2011 - 9 day creative development process with director, Margaret Cameron from Chamber Made Opera, Melbourne, supported by Arts Tasmania and the Australia Council
2012 (May) - First sell-out season, supported by Salamanca Arts Centre, Tasmania Performs, collaborated with fellow theatre artists, Robert Jarman, Annette Downs, Kelly Drummond Cawthorn, Pozible and YOU!!
