Madly
trying to raise funds for the Under 14 Hobart Zebras to attend this
Youth Football Tournament on the 5th July. We have a number of BBQ's but
things are looking pretty grim on the fundraising side of things. Kids
sport is an important part of growing up and to plan for something then
not be able to attend would be heartbreaking for them. So if you see us,
head on up and buy a sausage or just a
small donation, every cent counts, I'd love to see these kids go. Also
if you know of any local businesses that would be willing to help out
that would be fantastic.
The 2013 Kanga Cup will be a
celebration of culture, football, fun and friendship. The Kanga Cup is
the largest International Youth Football Tournament in the Southern
Hemisphere with teams from across Australia and overseas to participate
in the event. The Kanga Cup sees over 230 teams of 3700 players take
part in over 650 games in just 5 days! In 2012, The Kanga Cup aims to
host teams from Sister Cities Beijing and Nara as well as Friendship
city Dili at the 2013 Kanga Cup and help them share in the celebration
of our nation's capital.
The Tilford Zebras were formed in 1956, they were then known as the
Hobart Juventus Soccer Club. The Club was formed by Italian immigrants
who had a great passion for football. After a slow start to our history,
the Southern and State Premierships started to roll in, not to mention
the Statewide Cups & Pre-Season Cups. This has made the Tilford
Zebras the most successful Football Club in Tasmania over the last fifty
years.
