Hi everyone,

We thought we'd just take a moment to share with you some more information about the film and the project, so you understand what you may be potentially supporting.

Jackhammer is a short film about a young law student who is driven insane by the sound of a jackhammer coming from her neighbouring apartment. She's at a loss for what to do, as being a very lawful person, she knows the man next door is legally allowed to drill from 7am, but as she works nights, she needs to sleep. The man does not stop, and with a major exam coming up that will decide whether Nicole gets an internship with a major law firm, everything is at stake. The intensity of the film escalates and escalates, to fatally ironic results.

The film is about law versus morality - just because the law says you can do something, doesn't always mean you should.

Jackhammer was made over four days at the end of March earlier this year, shot mostly in Fremantle and Maylands. All the cast and crew worked for free, working long hours that were both physically and mentally demanding.

Anna, our lead actress, put her heart and soul into the role. She evoked a character that was strong-minded and, in someways, misled, but also real and relatable.

Nathan directed the actors and the crew to achieve his vision. He combined elements of suspense and drama, with striking visuals to communicate a strong meaning and potent emotions.

Steve Fleming, our director of photography, created some beautiful and visually arresting images. He mostly directed natural light (as opposed to artificial/electric light), like a sculptor manipulating clay in their hands, to achieve these perfectly balanced shots.

Will, producer of the film, did his best to pull all the chaotic elements of the production together and make the shoots run smoothly. He has also edited and colour graded the film, bringing out the pace and emotion of the film, in the months since production.

Everyone on this film was incredibly passionate about telling this story and making this film. It was this passion that has helped us achieve the result with have.

We want to take Jackhammer around the world. We (Nathan and Will) have a trip booked to go to the USA in 5 weeks time to promote the film. We are hoping bigger things come from this.

Unfortunately, the film cost a lot of money ($7000) to make. If you can help us by donating to the film at http://jhfilm.pozible.com we would be forever grateful.

Much thanks.
Will and Nathan
