METAFFLICTION tells the story of Anton, an aspiring film director who casts himself in the lead role of his movie and subsequently struggles to differentiate between reality and the fictional world he has created.
Anchored around the aftermath of a hit and run car accident, Metaffliction employs a unique multi-character narrative to examine the fine line between reality and fiction. Exploring themes such as decision and consequence, the overlap between friendship and romance and the struggles of realising creative ambition, Metaffliction is equal parts tragedy and comedy, simultaneously both poignant and buoyant.
PRODUCTION:
Working with a shoestring budget and bare-bones crew, Metaffliction was shot over 21 days between January and April 2012. Post-production began in late April and we've recently completed the first rough cut of the film.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Up until this point the film has been entirely self-funded and despite the many financial and logistical challenges our crew faced along the way, we've been able to create a work that we're extremely happy with.
However, we need your help to add the finishing touches the film requires to be successful. We would love to raise $4500 to help cover some of the remaining costs of audio post-production, colour correction and festival entries. We are extremely close to having a finished product, we just need your support to complete the final stages of the film.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:
As soon as we have raised the required funds the film will be colour-corrected and audio post-production will begin, which will take around three months to complete. From there we will begin entering Metaffliction into the best independent film festivals around the world as a platform to secure distribution.
