Starstruck is an 18 minute short film, written and directed by Cheese Whiskers of Enjoy Yourself Productions and shot by Jaque Fisher.
The majority of Starstruck has already been shot, however we still have two more days of filming and a lot of post production. We need your help to get Starstruck into the final stages of completion.
Starstruck is a quirky story about a very sad, lonely boy, who as a child was involved in a freak accident that left him with meteorite lodged in his head. The meteorite is both a gift and a curse, a gift in that it has pressed against a certain part of his brain resulting in super human intelligence, however it has left him disfigured, making him a freak and an outcast amongst society.
The story takes place during a very dark and depressing time for the boy. As he matures into his late teens, he has no friends and wonders what's the point in living in a hateful world. As the boy contemplates ending his life he gets some profound advice from an unlikely source along with meeting an attractive girl who sees beauty where others can't.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH MY DINERO, DOSH, MOOLA?
We're going to spend it on drugs, prostitutes and a baby tiger cub. Just kidding you can't remove a cub from it's mother, that would be immoral.
The money raised through Pozible will go towards.
Location hire - We need to hire a studio and get a permit for filming on a public street.
Some specialty equipment - Things like cranes, dolly's and audio equipment. Don't worry about the camera though, we have that sorted.
Prosthetics and make up - If you thought the meteorite looked cool boy do we have a surprise in store for you.
Food for the crew and cast - A film set is like a machine. In order for it to work efficiently it needs to be oiled and greased.
Coffee and water = Oil
Food = Grease
Sound post production - They say that sound is 70% percent of the film. We want your ears to enjoy Starstruck just as much as your eyes do.
Wicked cool special effects - Meteorites crashing into earth, fireworks, explosions, dinosaurs. Well maybe not dinosaurs but expect plenty of the other things mentioned.
Colour grade - Once the edit is complete we need a Colourist to create a unique look and feel for starstruck.
