HINTERLAND (previously In And Outside Our Home) explores the bizarre lifestyle of a mother and daughter living in a world of grandiose squalor, an era-less setting of a mansion that is falling down around them. The mother is an alcoholic and has created a delusional world for her and her daughter to live in. Happy, intelligent and excitable at times, she can move in and out of being a doting mother to an abusive and controlling despot in the blink of an eye (or the chink of a glass). With no contact from the outside world, the mother impresses her apparently self-attained knowledge on her daughter through daily lessons about politics, history and biology. Her daughter is unwavering in her trust towards her mother, even if at times she is taught with a hard line.

While roaming through the woods on their boundless property, the girl comes across a young soldier wounded in one of their rabbit traps. The arrival of this unexpected visitor disrupts their untouched and unique lifestyle in ways unimaginable. 

 

PROGRESS & DONATIONS

Pre-Production has already began and is coming along nicely with Production scheduled to Commence on August 22^nd this year. The money raised will go towards production costs such as; Equipment Hire, Costume & Make-Up, Location Fees and Set Design and Post-Production. 

 

AIM

Our aim is to produce a film of high quality that will be entered into a range of local film festivals as well as hopefully branching out to International ones.
