What is it?

Dino Escape follows the journey of a baby triceratops (named Trippy) taken from his mother and thrown into captivity. After smashing out of his cage, he must now outrun his captors to regain freedom. Running away from the evil humans' ever-looming shadow, you must chomp watermelon to pick up speed, whilst smashing as many objects as you can to gain points. The more points you collect, the stronger and faster you become, and the sooner you grow from a baby to an adult. As levels progress, you have to dodge predators, avoid natural disasters, free other caged dinosaurs, and utilise powerful boosts.

One of the main goals with Dino Escape was to make a game that would appeal to everyone, not just your stereotypical hardcore gaming crowd. We've really tried to create a strong art theme centred around the concept of this adorable baby triceratops. We've done a tonne of analysis of what types of games do and don't work on the mobile gaming market, and have really tried to nail the concept of a simple, fun and addictive core mechanic with enough features to give it the replay-ability people look for. We've included a story driven campaign mode, where you'll get to see Trippy grow over time and finally get back to his mother, as well as your typical 'Endless Runner' mode made popular by titles like Temple Run, Jetpack Joyride and Ski Safari. After living and breathing Dino Escape for two months now, we are over the moon to have it at the stage where we can show it off to you and be really proud of it.

Who are we?

We are a start-up games studio based in Brisbane - consisting of 6 university graduates. Admittedly we don't have a long history of experience, but we believe this is made up for in tenacity, skill and work ethic.

Why do we need money?

We are already well into development, and are planning to release ‘Dino Escape!’ later this year on iOS and Android. Between most of our collective savings, we have managed to cover all of the software licenses which are absolutely necessary for release. However, since we are all working on this full time, we have next to no income until the game is released, and are currently living off what savings we have left after fronting up for the numerous fees involved in making a company. While we have the absolute necessities, we would love to be able to afford: a professional composer for game music, and programs which would both speed up how quickly we can create and release the game, as well as allow us to make it even higher quality.
