This is the story of how long-time friends and collaborators Caroline J. Dale and Magdalena "Woz" Wozniak became: The Christmas Girls. And this is how The Christmas Girls Ride Again: The Inaugural Ride began.
No one was was as surprised as Magda and Caroline when, mere weeks after being reunited following four years on opposite sides of the country, they inadvertently purchased complementary Christmas-coloured bikes. This coincidence could only be termed, "A Christmas Miracle." The next step was inevitable. They would ride. Together. For Christmas.
The Christmas Girls RIde Again: The Inaugural Ride is a performance piece. It is a community service. It is a feat of endurance. It is a secular non-denominational celebration of the festive yuletide. And an act of love, actually.
SO WHAT EXACTLY IS "THE CHRISTMAS GIRLS RIDE AGAIN: THE INAUGURAL RIDE"?
The Christmas Girls Ride Again: The Inaugural Ride is a bike ride. On our (The Christmas Girls') journey, we will suffuse the streets and/or suburbs of Melbourne with Christmas cheer, community spirit and Bailey's Irish Cream. We will visit a selection of homes within the inner north (305- postcode region, plus Northcote), to deliver Christmas treats and/or cheer, all the while lighting up the notorious trifecta of Nicholson Street, Lygon Street and Sydney Road with our elaborately festooned bicycle vehicles.
How The Funds Will Be Used
$25 - Christmas decorations purchased at famous Melbourne discount variety store, "Hot Potatoes." These will be used to adorn, festoon and illuminate the official "Christmas Girls Ride Again: The Inaugural Ride" vehicles.
$50 - Ingredients for the creation of a lovingly hand-crafted gastronomic experience that will blow the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to be visited during the "Christmas Girls Ride Again: The Inaugural Ride."
$20 - Craft supplies that will be used to deliver an individualised Christmas experience to those fortunate enough to be visited during the "Christmas Girls Ride Again: The Inaugural Ride."
$50 - Ingredients for the creation of a lovingly hand-crafted gastronomic experience that will blow the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to be visited during the "Christmas Girls Ride Again: The Inaugural Ride."

The Challenges
RAIN
Melbourne is truly the city of five seasons in one day. (If you're curious, the final season is, of course.... Christmas.) But should the fourth season ("rain") intrude on our performance, the show will go on. Unless it is dangerous to do so.
TIREDNESS
We are under no illusions. This journey will be tough. This journey will push us. This journey will transform us from Christmas Girls into Christmas Women. But we will ride on. Unless it is dangerous to do so.
LUKEWARM RECEPTION
Not everyone loves Christmas. That's a given. It's our goal to ensure that all participants feel comfortable during their The Christmas Girls Ride Again: The Inaugural Ride experience. No friends will be forced to partake in any activity that leaves them feeling uncomfortable. Unless it is dangerous not to.
