DARWIN BAND TO MAKE EP WITH GREAT AUSSIE PRODUCER STEVEN SCHRAM
You've seen us live, or maybe you've followed us from previous incarnations, now join us in making this debut EP a reality!
Darwin alternative rock band Green Stone Garden has secured Steven Schram
to produce and Engineer their forthcoming EP release and we want you to be a
part of our journey to bring one of the best Top End artists to the rest of the
world. We want all our fans, listeners and friends to
feel a part of the amazing opportunity we have been given.
Project
overview
This project will fly the band to Melbourne and record a 4 track EP at
Soundpark Studios over a week in November for release in early 2013.
Budget
The total project cost is $9,000 which includes airfares, producing, engineering, mixing and mastering. We have done the math, stretched our budget and now we need to do a bit of 'pre sales' to make it happen.
About
Green Stone Garden
Green Stone Garden is one of those bands whose name couldn’t be more fitting.
Their songs grow stories; like the dense and rapid growth of the Darwin wet
season around them. Bass, drums, synth and guitar underwrite Mike Meston’s
lyrical narratives.
Located somewhere between indie rock and indie folk, land and sea, intimacy and isolation- the four-piece emerged onto the Darwin music scene in mid-2011. They have since earned local acclaim and played alongside Husky, Dapped Cities, Jeff Martin & GOMEZ. The band's front man Mike Meston also took out the 2012 NT Music Award for Folk Song of the Year. Northern exposure has served them well.
Green Stone Garden takes its melodic and storytelling cues from Leonard Cohen, Arcade Fire, Feist and Jeff Buckley.

refinement, Steven prefers to place his faith in the artists’ abilities
and his own engineering skill and forethought rather than heavily rely
on manipulation by modern recording technologies.
A fearless approach to production and mixing and an unmistakable sonic character has yielded multiple ARIA nominations, top 10 albums, triple j hottest 100 entries and collaborations with album artists such as Little Red, San Cisco, Little Birdy, Cat Empire, Eagle and the Worm, Ground Components, Clairy Brown & The Bangin’ Rackettes amongst others.
