Intensity is an online documentary project that explores achievement of potential from a female perspective. We plan to deliver an online documentary and website in which we share women's stories of achievement and look at the ways girls and women can overcome obstacles in realising their potential. The documentary will be supported by a website and online resources for girls and women. Intensity will draw on women’s networks to support girls and women to reach their potential and be successful.
What content will the documentary include?
We’ll cover many topics about girls, women and potential. Some of the topics covered will be; girls and education; female underachievement; whether family responsibilities and career plans are compatible and the characteristics highly achieving women share. We’ll also include user generated content and bio’s and interviews with successful women from a range of professions.
Why the focus on girls and women?
There are many issues relating specifically to female potential that we want to explore. Women and girls undergo unique experiences in reaching their potential and it is this female aspect of potential that we can begin to examine in a single documentary
Who is Intensity for?
Intensity is not only aimed at girls and women who want to reach a higher level of achievement, but at their support networks of family and friends too. Intensity is also targeted at filmmakers and artists who would like to creatively contribute to the project and others who want to share their experiences and knowledge.
This is an exciting project with the potential to have a very positive impact on women’s and girl’s lives.
What about the costs and fundraising for Intensity?
We need to raise $15,110 by 12th March 2013 to produce a 15 minute mini-documentary for our online community and operate a website until the end of the project. Our online community will be able to engage with the documentary and access other resources via the Intensity webpage.
The short documentary will also be used as a pilot program. If we can build an online community via this appeal this will help us raise further funding for the project and help the project evolve from strength to strength.
