Carl Scrase will represent Wemakeus at Critical Animals on a panel entitled 'Science, Sound and the Imagin(ed)ation' which is scheduled for 14:00 on Friday 30th of September and will run for around 90 mins.
At 'Science, Sound and the Imagin(ed)ation' Carl will discuss his fascination with archetypes. He will discuss the Wemakeus Collective, the cultural policy and his creative practice in relation to, four fold leadership, Myers-Briggs personality types, parallel thinking, crowd sourcing and empathy.

Art and Social Action
2PM-3:30PM, The Royal Exchange, Paper Session with Screening Laura Castagnini, Carl Scrase (Wemakeus), John Olstad, Scott Brown, Angela Philp (chair) Artist collectives promoting a global engagement with creativity, film used to document and restore endagered languages in Japan and Papua New Guinea and the development of interactive technologies in conjunction with Autism Spectrum Australia. Artists and researchers explore the role of art in social action through the discussion of their individual projects.
At 'Art and Social Action,' Carl will talk about the Social Engineering Research Initiative and the Wemakeus Collective. In particular he will focus on his plans to grow a human empathy virus in a lab at SymbioticA art/biology lab in 2012. .
At 'Art and Social Action' Laura will discuss humour as a method of engagement in political art, mostly in reference to her upcoming project at VCA Margaret Lawrence Gallery which explores humour in feminist art. This project is currently in development with assistance from the Sidney Myer Trust funded NAVA Curator Mentorship Initiative and a Career Development Grant from CAL's Cultural Fund, and will be presented in Melbourne in 2013.
