Ivan Malekin found film with a little serendipity back in 2007 and has never looked back. With a Degree in Professional Writing and Editing he could not help but be drawn to this new direction in story-telling: the immediacy and the intimacy of seeing characters brought to life on the big screen - there is no other feeling quite like it, people.

Ivan plunged head first into film and quickly learnt to swim. He is the founder and director of the Made In Melbourne Film Festival, which showcases emerging and established local filmmakers, and Short Cut Monthly Film Night, a regular interactive event which screens some of the best short films from Australia and around the world.

Ivan has also produced and directed numerous short films, and has his first feature film in post-production, Dace Decklan: Private Eye, a wacky gross out comedy all about stiffies and titties. But, of course, you already know that!
