Sardines goes to Melbourne

Sardines is my favorite piece to date because it is humorous with clear content and an inventive choreographic language. I feel it really hits the mark in terms of what I want to communicate to an audience, which is to shake-up assumptions about how women are portrayed within Australian culture but in the most fun way because we all like a laugh, especially at ourselves. Packed Like Sardines In a Football Stadium is a super compact and tourable work that will reveal the choreographic potential of Company Upstairs to a Melbourne market - the next step I need to take in order to get my works touring out from Perth, to the East Coast and beyond!
The Performers
The wonderful dancers showcasing their diverse talents for the Melbourne season are Helen Duncan, Elanor Webber and Isabella Stone.
We Need Your Support!
Your support will cover the artist fees, flights, studio hire for rehearsals and props for presentation. Dancehouse provides the venue and all marketing. Our offer of a slot at Dancehouse's Melbourne Fringe Festival season came through outside of regular funding timelines - this crowdfunding campaign is the best way we can raise the funds to make this tour happen. In return for your generosity we have devised a selection of useful, tasty yet pertinent rewards, as well as our huge gratititude for helping us cross the Nullarbor!
