Toy to the World is currently a biennial charity art event involving a custom vinyl toy
design competition that provides both the opportunity for public to witness art creation happening live and the chance for artists to exhibit works while contributing their creations to help raising funds to go toward HIV research in the hopes of improving the lives of those affected by it. The event is split into two distinct parts, the Design Day launch event where artists can collect a plain white vinyl toy and begin work live with provided paints and markers; and the Exhibition & Auction where all the complete works are judged by respected industry judges and displayed while a 2 week silent auction runs. Artists may pre-register their interest for a time slot on the Design Day, or may register to receive a vinyl toy to complete before the Exhibition



Launching in 2010 Toy to the World was a huge success raising close to $2000 for HIV research and treatment, awarded to the Victorian Aids Council. The event obtained acclaim from Melbourne’s Lord Mayor, Robert Doyle, with the exhibition run as part of the opening night of Midsumma Festival 2011, with 100 final entries, DJ, stocked bar, 3 major prizes, extensive media coverage, and well supported by community donations and business donations. In 2012 we hope to raise $5000 through the event for HIV research and funding.

Anticipation continues to grow for a strong return event in 2012-13, but in order for the project to launch we need to raise funds to manufacture the toys and ship them to our event as well as purchase supplies for the Artists to use.

treatment, research and education.
