SYNOPSIS
‘Neddy’ is a short film about a strangely familiar family of five. The eldest boy NED gets around with a pot on his head while his fiery, single mother imparts her paranoia upon the children to ensure they know their place in the world. We meet the entire family: ANNE, who suffers from O.C.D, JIM and DAN who have a knack for mischief and MAGGIE, who at age 8, is the most wise in the family. When Ned’s pot goes missing one morning, the household is confronted with the knowledge that they may all have ‘soft spots’ on their heads. This in turn results in Maggie suggesting that they all ‘get a helmet’, to protect themselves from the world’s threats and beastly injustices. Come inside their home and witness life for a family who have, (until now), been somewhat elusive in our own minds in contrast to a particular ‘legend’ we all know so well. Come – back to 1865 – and see just how the gang was born.
PROGRESS
'NEDDY' was filmed over a weekend in August on the new RED EPIC camera, we're now hoping to raise enough funds for 'post production' work, which will include a professional colour grade.
We hope that 'Neddy' will have a successful run on the festival circuit throughout 2012.
WHAT WILL THE MONEY GO TOWARDS?
'Neddy' is a non-profit venture and all crew and helpers working on this film are volunteers. We are hoping to raise enough funds to help pay for:
- Post Production Facilities (Hire / Labour)
- Promotion Costs
- Distribution
