We're ThreeApplesHigh and in 2013 we'll be bringing the intoxicating show Smashed, by Lally Katz to the Adelaide Fringe Festival for it's South Australian premiere.
This is a piece of theatre that will grab onto you tightly and won't let go.
It is the journey of two friends who will do anything to stay together, in a world that is continually changing and convulsing before their eyes. A journey through an abandoned demolition yard infected with zombies... a journey through first experiences... through memories... through time and space.... through childhood.
This is ThreeApplesHigh's second show for the Adelaide Fringe Festival - in 2012 we presented the Australian premiere of The K of D by Laura Schellhardt to high critical acclaim and this year we are hoping to present a show that goes even further and allows us to work to create an even more beautiful, poignant piece.
We begin rehearsals at the beginning of next year with our two performers, Mandahla Rose who will be playing ballsy Hazel and Kate Englefield who will take the wistful role of Ruby and our creative director, Victoria Beal.
After a critically successful first show, we just need a hand in getting the ball rolling for next year. We are so passionate about making theatre that is not only beautiful to watch, but also relevant and we want to have a voice in the Australian theatre scene. And we want to have the opportunity to perform pieces that make you feel something, whether that may be empathy or disgust or sorrow, and to work on new and influential plays.
To give us the kick start we need we're looking for $3,000. This will help us to build our set, to pay for the rights to put this work on, the venue, rehearsal space, insurance, costumes... everything really! This money will mean that we can give Smashed 100% and share this heart-felt and explosive story.
Please, please pledge your support to us so that we can make Smashed a show to remember this Adelaide Fringe. Any donations, large or small will help us not only to present this stunning piece of theatre, but also to continue to create exciting work into the future.
