"People never gave up, resuscitating me, trying to do everything they could to save me, and I was an unknown person... it didn’t matter, and I think that to me is what it means to be human. That to me is humanity, where we can look at each other and say you are a fellow human being and I will do everything I can for you." Dr Gill Hicks on Enough Rope with Andrew Denton, July 2, 2007

We're Brink Productions, makers of the acclaimed When The Rain Stops Falling, and in 2013 we'll be premiering a powerful new work made in collaboration with English Touring Theatre. The play takes reference from the remarkable story of Adelaide woman Gill Hicks who lost her legs in the 2005 London bombings. Thursday by Bryony Lavery is our most ambitious and poetic work yet.

We begin rehearsals on January 14 with a cast of nine brilliant actors from Australia and the UK, and open on Thursday February 28. We have been working across continents on this play for almost five years and have sought special funding on top of our core state and federal government funding. It is a monumental undertaking that we have embraced without reservation.

Yet in Australia, exciting new works of scale and ambition are rare because they are expensive, and this is a reality we cannot ignore. To help us finally enter rehearsals confidently and fully-resourced we need your help to raise a further $13,000. This money will mean that we can give Thursday our very best, and ultimately present to you and the world a work of significance and excellence; one which shares an important story.

Please support Thursday by pledging your support to this crowdfunding campaign. There are many great rewards on offer that invite you to become a part of its journey. Your support, large or small, means that not only can our work as artists reach its full potential, but that Gill's story and message can continue to touch, and remind us all of the power of humanity.
