BECOME A PATRON OF THE ARTS (Just by drinking coffee!)
I am starting a small Artist Run Initiative (ARI) on Lygon St, East Brunswick, Melbourne in 2013.
To help with initial set-up costs, this campaign is giving you the chance to pre-purchase coffees. The spare-change card, only $35, redeemable for 10 coffees, and the $70 King card, redeemable for 24 coffees. Or for the brave the $7,000 Patron reward upon which you get your portrait painted and hung in the cafe.
NiceARTS is a HUB for all things art. A place where emerging and early career artists can congregate and collaborate. It is a cafe, it is art studios and it's a gallery. The gallery will focus on showcasing emerging artists and fostering new connections with established artists through mentorships and curated shows.
NiceARTS will not be bland and it will not be mediocre; you will not leave an exhibition unsatisfied. The goal is to create an exciting environment for contemporary and unique artists, where there is always something interesting happening. NiceARTS will hold art exhibitions, workshops, small performances and talks. NiceARTS' focus will be to enrich the local community, support local artists, support young Indigenous artists, help early career and emerging artists connect with established artists and provide a fun and creative environment.
The $7,000 dollars will go towards securing a lease and helping to buy equipment. If you are a patron of the arts please help get this initiative off the ground and buy some coffee! You could even buy a pack as a present for someone special. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

A limited edition print by Steaphan Paton. An A3 size black and white linocut or wood cut print on hahnemuele paper. Edition of 35. *NB The image is an example of "Dyillah" which was Highly commended in the 2007 Victorian Indigenous Art Awards- Lin Onus category. The print will be new work based on this concept.
