Introducing New TV Show "Yes You Can Paint!"

The Mission

Our Mission is to inspire and teach people around the world to start painting.

Right now around Australia there are tens of thousands of people who would love to be able to take up painting as a past time or hobby but don't think they have the artistic ability.

Our aim is to inspire them to start painting by showing them how easy it is to get started as an artist with the right instruction. At Moore Art School we teach a simple step-by-step process that guarantees that you can learn to paint even if you have never picked up a brush before.

Following the Moore Method of Painting hundreds of absolute beginners have started painting and achieved great results.

Our new TV show "Yes You Can Paint" to be broadcast nationally around Australia on community TV will make it possible for even more people to let free their inner artist.

Background

Moore Art School was founded by artist Rod Moore.

After some years of going to various art classes trying to learn how to paint in watercolor Rod gave up in frustration. Then after watching videos on You Tube he came across Bill Alexander who was teaching people to paint on TV in the 80's in the USA. Bill inspired millions of Americans to learn to paint through his show.

Rod was so impressed he contacted the Alexander Art company and became the first and only Australian certified instructor of the Bill Alexander method of painting. Since then Rod has adapted the method to suit Australian audiences and now teaches it through Moore Art School.

In September 2011 Rod and his wife Sue approached C31 Melbourne with an idea for a new TV show called 'Plein Air Painting TV' which would feature Rod painting on location and Sue providing details and highlights of the location via a travel segment. The show was produced for one season with 13 half hour episodes.

The show was a huge hit and was broadcast nationally during prime time on C31 Melbourne, 44 Adelaide, WTV, 31 Digital Brisbane, and TVS Sydney. Tens of thousands of people watched the show ... many contacting Rod and Sue to say how the show inspired them to make a start painting.

The big question we keep getting is 'When is series 2 of Plein Air Painting going to be on TV?'

Well the reality is this ... as good as the show was there were a number of challenges with it. The first challenge was the ability to be able to film outdoors year round to keep the show on air year round. The weather just simply does not allow us to film Rod doing a painting on location all year round. The other challenge was that there was not enough direct instruction on how to paint in the shows.

So we have been racking our brains to come up with the right solution and we think we have found it.

About "Yes You Can Paint"

"Yes You Can Paint" is a new advanced version of 'Plein Air Painting'.

We will still be going out on location finding great painting subjects ... and Sue will still feature in many of the episodes with great local travel information as so many people loved her segment.

The big difference will be that the painting of the subject will be done back in the studio. On location Rod will be gathering photos of the subject to paint, and doing some sketches, and then heading back to the studio to show you step-by-step how to complete the painting. This way the painting will be done in perfect conditions (as opposed to the wind and rain) and the entire process will be filmed in such a way that you can more easily follow along at home.

Plus ... for the first time in Australian TV history a painting TV show will be interactive.

As a viewer of the show you will be invited to our website to download the photos and sketches created by Rod so that you can have a go at the painting yourself. You will be then be able to share your finished painting with our community of viewers on our website and enter our monthly painting competitions.

Entrants into the competitions will have their paintings shared on the TV show in future episodes which in turn will inspire even more artists to get involved in our community of artists. So you can play a part in our mission by inspiring others to start painting through your example.

Now we want to inspire even more people through the new "Yes You Can Paint" TV show but in order to do that we need your help.

Why We Need Your Help

Producing a TV show is not cheap ... producing an entire series like 'Plein Air Painting TV' is even more expensive. Being able to produce a show like "Yes You Can Paint" and have it run year round rather than being a once off ... well you can imagine this is more expensive again.

"Plein Air Painting TV" was entirely funded by Rod and Sue.

We need your help if we are to produce "Yes You Can Paint". Without the support of others then the show will not be possible.

"Yes You Can Paint" will be partly funded by Moore Art School and a few sponsors ... however we still need to raise a minimum of an additional $4,500 which will be used for costs such as:

- Purchasing needed equipment

- Filming and editing costs

- Audio costs and music licensing rights

- Crew costs

- Transport & Travel costs

- On site location costs

- Permits

- Insurance

- Studio rental costs

- Studio fit out costs

If we are able to raise more than $4,500 through the support of people like you then it means we can travel interstate to locations that the show may not otherwise reach, plus create additional footage and painting lessons which we will make available on the website for you.

So we are asking you for your support to help us fund the required $4,500 to make "Yes You Can Paint" possible.
