Shiri-WHAT? Shiri-WHO?

Shiritori Press is Alina Tang and Danni McGrath. We are art students and we really, really like printmaking. We are currently collecting a range of printmaking equipment (a travelling etching press and a range of screen printing equipment so far) and setting it all up as an Artist Run Initiative, running workshops, co-ordinating exhibitions and making the equipment available for other artists to use. Shiritori Press is a way of sharing our love of printmaking with the world!

Summer of Shiritori 

Over the Summer of 2013, we will be running a number of print projects. They include:

Danni & Alina's Great Print Adventure: A Printmaking Pilgrimage (D&A's GPA: PP)

In early January 2013, we will be travelling to Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne to visit a range of exciting printmaking organisations. We will be researching how they operate, talking about printmaking and also making some sweet prints of our own. The adventure will be documented in the form of a short film by our friend Lincoln Russell. Then we'll be bringing it all back to Perth to share with you!

Shiritori Press Mail-Out Project

An ongoing project where we send out hand-printed letters. We send letters about printmaking, our travels, and the secret of what Shiritori actually means, amongst other things.

Shiritori Meets Perth

As part of the 2013 FRINGE WORLD Festival we are presenting Shiritori Meets Perth, a series of pop up print studio sessions. On weekends throughout the Festival our travelling etching press will pop up in a range of Perth locations. We will be printing limited editions of prints by local artists - if you're quick you can collect your own!

PRINT PARTY!!!

To celebrate the end of the Summer of Shiritori, we will be holding PRINT PARTY!!! The party will include a screening of the short film created for D&A's GPA: PP, an exhibition of prints made over the Summer and interactive printmaking demonstrations. Yeah!
