WHO WE ARE

WA Circus School is a not for profit, community based circus organisation providing classes in Circus Arts to students aged 3-103, as well as providing a training space for many professionals in the industry. We are 80% self funded and receive some support each year through Healthway.

WHAT WE DO

WA Circus School offers our students and the wider community opportunities to gain professional instruction in circus arts and aerials. We have classes for all ages and all abilities from 3+ years to professional performers – and the basis of all our classes is about the spirit of community, skill exploration, development and having fun!

At WACS, we believe in allowing students to flourish at their own pace in a safe, non competitive and nurturing environment. Students have the opportunity to show case their talents in several productions a year and our youth troupe regularly perform at Corporate shows throughout the year.

We also provide circus workshops and residencies to remote communities through out the year.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Every year WA Circus School puts on two productions and the end of year show is the big one. Usually, despite being predominantly self funded we do a pretty darn good job of giving our students professional performance experience in high quality shows. This time is a little different.

We want to do something big, that shows the community how talented and hard working the circus community is, and lets everyone enjoy the magic we have to offer.

So it’s going to be big, in the park and free to attend. And as a bonus we are running an open circus workshop in the park the same afternoon!

The very talented Dream State Circus have come on board to direct our students and create an amazing show that includes aerials, circus, fire and will all be performed to a powerful live soundtrack provided by a violinist and an opera singer!

The show will involve our teenage and adult students as well as a few of the professionals who use the school as a training facility and everyone has been working very hard to make sure their acts are the best they can be.

People from all over the community are coming together and contributing their time, talents and equipment for very cheap or free but the overall costs are still very high so WA Circus School is looking to you to help partially fund the project so we can pay for ;

Lighting

Sound system

Posters

As a Not for Profit that is significantly self funded, WACS is dependant on your generosity to share the Circus magic that goes on at the school with the rest of the world. With your help, we can create a magical, Circus experience that Perth will remember for a long time to come!

Putting on this show will allow us to give our students a great professional performance experience

as well as sharing the circus magic with the wider community and reminding everyone how important(and amazing/fun/inclusive/incredible) circus is in WA!
