Raton Laveur (Raccoon)
Its a huge undertaking as most of the cast and crew are coming from Melbourne and we need your help to get there. By donating, you will be supporting us to get the cast, crew, director and producer to Adelaide, as well as accommodation for some of us during that time. We wont be staying in fancy hotels, but we need somewhere central to the theatre as we will be preforming 6 or 7 days a week. Yep we are workin' it!!
A breakdown of some of our costs are:
As well as this, we would like to advertise our little show and get it out to the masses. Competition is fierce in Adelaide with hundreds of shows wanting your bum on their seat. We will use some of the money to put towards poster and postcard production and awesome merch like badges and racoon masks, anything that will make us stand out from the crowd.
Described as a comedy with dark circle under its eyes, Raton Laveur (the French word for Raccoon) won audiences over in its premiere season at the Toronto Fringe Festival with reviewers naming it “irresistible” and a “comedic goldmine”.
The play tells the story of Phil and Lily who have moved to Toronto from Australia to pursue Lily's dreams. Phil, finding himself at loose ends, becomes obsessed with the nest of raccoons living behind the creperie where he works. As Phil descends deeper into paranoia, things take a violent turn, and Lily is left cleaning up the mess.
