The HERO Project is a performance project spanning 7 months of workshops, engaging 13 artists and hundreds of young people from South Western Sydney.

The performance utilises giant puppets, parkour and spray art in a conceptual work that explores heroism in an imagined future in which warring factions and environmental change are rife.

We want to send 70 young people from South Western Sydney to attend the opening night performance and party on Thursday the 22nd of September.

The HERO Project is made by young people. Approximately 40 young people will participate in the performance and half of the facilitators are young people. At the core of The HERO Project is skills development and mentorship - young people inspiring one another and exploring their power as leaders.

Fairfield City is one of the most disadvantaged and diverse communities in the country. We would like local young people to be inspired by the work of their peers and experience a sense of pride in a large-scale theatre spectacular made in their own backyard.

PYT has links to many local youth service organisations including Mission Australia, Cabramatta Youth Team and local Links to Learning Centres. Your contribution will support ticket, catering & travel costs for local young people to attend our opening night event where we hope to inspire them to be part of shaping their local communities, and to share their stories.

No contribution is too small. PYT has deductible gift recipient (DGR) status with the Australian Taxation Office, so any donations over $2 can be issued a tax receipt on request.
