"HOLLYWOOD" - Debut EP from The Falls
In the fallout from Valentines Day, The Falls decided that rather than wallowing in self pity they would put their heartbreak to tape. So they pulled out their little tascam 4-track portastudio, which, with all its tape wobbles and noise, aptly captured the fragility of their hearts. These fledgling demo recordings were just the beginning of what will become their debut EP “HOLLYWOOD”.
In the spring of 2011, Simon + Melinda from The Falls will be heading into the studio to record their debut EP “HOLLYWOOD” with producer Tony Buchen. For The Falls, this recording is essential for them to help get their music to radio and reach a wider audience, and take their career to the next level. However, they need your help to raise the funds needed to make this a reality.
Below is an out line of the budget for recording:
Studio Fee (2 days) - $2100
Recording Session Fees - $8000
Tape Fee - $50
Mastering - $990
Artwork - $1000
Printing for 1000 units - $2200
Total - $ 14,340
Their funding goal is only a portion of what is actually required to record and print the EP- so if we are lucky enough to reach $8000 - the fundraising will continue, as it would be wonderful to get as close to the $14000 target as we possibly can!

DEAR DIARY (1 only) The Falls have a lovely moleskin notebook in which they are documenting the recording process. Basically it contains their whole life and everything they need to do while they are in the studio. It contains all of the original handwritten notes for the album including: recording schedule, detailed daily plan (what needs to be done each day, what they did get done and with who), notes on takes, mixing notes, recording notes, lunchorders, arrangement notes, all of the original handwritten lyrics and any changes made to them while in the studio, doodles + The Falls will play an intimate gig for you and your friends at your house! + receive a personal thankyou in the liner notes of the EP “HOLLYWOOD” + a personalised signed copy of the EP + Handwritten Lyrics and Chords for each song on the EP + a thankyou note from The Falls + the warmest fuzziest feeling imaginable
