About the Project
“The Golden Triangles” is a set of pilot episodes of four short films based on stories written to entertain children in the 8 to 12 year age group. The four episodes will form the basis of what will be a first series of episodes all linked with a common theme and characters.
Subsequent episodes will be funded by the sales of the first four and will allow you to participate in the way the characters and series develops.
These short films will be available via an app and delivered directly to a tablet device, mobile telephone or computer. They will be available either individually or as a series.
These first four films are based on stories written specifically for us to entertain and inform children written by a writer with over thirty years of experience in communicating through the written media with children. This is the first time any of his works have been put into the film media. When you read his bio below I hope you will want to see his work in film.
We have commissioned a number of scripts from Francois and we will select from these the four which will form the 3:1 project.. There to be a cast of 4 or 5 actors each with a defined personality who will act in all four episodes. They will change occupation depending on the script in question, but will be a diverse group of people reflecting today’s Australia, but they will be recognisable from one episode to the next. The intention is in the longer term to allow the audience to start to influence t the development of the characters and their behaviors along the lines that parents see as important to be passed to their children.
The messages in the scripts vary and an example is one of an arrogant boy showing off to his friends by attempting to prove how much smarter he is than those around him. The dialogue shows the need to respect those around you and suffice it to say the arrogant one is not as smart as he thinks he is.
Another story illustrates that winning a game through your own efforts is far more rewarding than cheating or getting inside help.
The short films will present these always relevant issues in a fresh and entertaining way.
The stories have serious messages tailored in an entertaining way for children. Again in the longer term the intention is for the audience (the parents) to direct the topics to be covered.
The team is excited about this collaboration, the uniqueness of the material and the potential for the audience to interact directly with the characters in the future episodes. We hope you will also see the potential in this project.
What are We Wanting to Achieve and Why?
Our Goal is the make this set of four films as a pilot set of shows for a 10 episodes series. We want to provide cost effective entertaining shows for children in the 8 to 12 year age group directly onto their tablet or home computer. Entertainment for this age group needs to have parental acceptance and the stories will also have a message that the parents will both like and also be entertaining for them.
We also want to develop an entertaining interactive series which will allow the audience (and the parents) to be involved in future episodes by either changing the way the characters develop and suggesting messages or themes that they feel as parents they want their children to be exposed to.

We need to raise $7,000 to secure $28,000.
This project is part of the 3:1 funding, if we raise $7,000 then Screenwest will contribute the balance as part of their 3:1 incentive funding project. This is being done through the Pozible website. If we raise $7,000 we will be eligible to receive the $21,000 to give a total of $28,000
We need your help to meet this target and we need to meet this target by Jan 16th, We would like you to invest in us and we need to raise this money as quickly as possible to secure the 3:1 support.
If we raise the $7,000 but do not do so in the timeframe to secure the 3:1 funding then we will proceed with the project but only make 2 episodes.
