Here’s the deal with this initiative, for every dollar we raise on Pozible up to our target, ScreenWest will match it 3 to 1. So for every dollar you donate, ScreenWest will match it with three dollars! However, this is a first past the post situation ands the available funds are limited. This is an incredible initiative for emerging filmmakers and gives us a great chance to get our project off the ground running.

The concept behind Choose Your Homage came to us in a dream, a really awesome dream. Much like the classic ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ stories of yore, Choose Your Homage allows you, the viewer to make the major decisions for the characters during their quest. Unlike traditional choose your own adventure stories, the decisions you make are less practical, more stylistic. At the end of each installment of the adventure, you decide which classic film you would like to see homaged as the characters continue their adventure in the next installment. Your decisions change the storyline, jokes and developments of the adventure.
Of course, Choose Your Homage isn’t limited to film, the same format works for novels, TV, subculture genres, celebrities and just about anything else you can think of. But we’ve chosen to start with film. We’re cool like that.

In Choose Your Homage: Chinchilla Hunt, Sophia and Padraig return to Sophia’s house after a horribly unsuccessful date to find Sophia’s pet Chinchilla has been kidnapped (see, we told you the Chinchilla facts were relevant). The two mismatched lovers must now track down Sophia’s beloved pet before time runs out. As they complete their quest, you decide which classic films you want homaged in the next installment. For instance, choose the soppy romantic period piece and watch the characters don fabulous, turn of the century outfits and politely talk their way through the next room, or choose the big budget action extravaganza and watch them blast their way through, quipping all the while. The choice is yours.
So, where you come in? We know we’ve got a great concept here, and we know we’ve got the goods to pull it off (we’ve read the scripts, they’re pretty darn good) but what we don’t have (yet) is the funds to make it happen. If you can only spare a dollar, we’d be eternally grateful for it, but better yet, if you can spare a little extra, check out the cool prizes listed to the right.

“OK”, I hear you say, “so what if you don’t reach your funding target in time to qualify for Screenwest funding through 3 to 1?” Well, firstly, we love your optimism! Thankfully, we do have a back up plan. If we don’t manage to reach our target in time, of course we will go ahead with the project regardless (how else could we thank you all for your kindness?). The result will simply be a stripped back version of Chinchilla Hunt with a few less options available.
At present, we plan to offer you 16 full 3 minute episodes. Essentially, this means after the introduction video, you get a choice between two different film homages, at the end of that video you get another two choices, then three choices, then another three for the final installment. You could then re-start the adventure, choosing a different option after the first video and have entirely different choices (trust us, it’s not that complicated when you’re watching!).

Plan B is a slightly stripped down version with some choices removed and less videos offered than we want to show you., only 9 x 3 minute videos all up. It should still be a great experience, but you won’t get the wide range of choices we want to give you. So hopefully, with your help, and that of Screenwest, we can make the full version!
