The Tunnels is a visual and performing arts 'experience', showcasing a variety of art forms, with a focus on emerging, South Australian visual arts.

ABOUT

The Tunnels will take place over two weeks from the 19^th April – 2^nd May 2013 in the “unexpected” space underneath the Adina Hotel in Adelaide, South Australia. The first week (19^th April – 25^th April) will be themed “Oxygen”. The second week (26^th April – 2^nd May) will be themed “Beneath”. The artists selected will create new works for the exhibition, linking directly to either of the aforementioned themes. These themes are related to the nature of the space.

The Friday nights of each week (19^th April and 26^th April) will feature not only works of visual art, but installations, moving images, body painting, musical performances, sculpture,  jewellery etc. Opening from 6pm-9pm on these nights, members of the public will be able to enter The Tunnels and explore the different rooms. During the week following the opening nights (Fridays), the exhibition will be open as a visual arts gallery daily.

Most of our artists are already locked in and we have been receiving progress shots of their works. Just so you know, it all looks positively amazing and we are looking forward to the exhibition immensely!

WHY CONTRIBUTE?

We are running this exhibition on a shoestring budget, so we need YOUR help! 

To put on an exhibition involving so many artists (approximately 50 artists in total!), we need funding for marketing costs, artist fees, decorations, gallery sitters and production costs!
