The Blind Passenger is a 12-minute film descending into the darkness of a blind man failing to find love, short-sighted by the persistence of his inner-vision. [Spoiler alert] Lewi is bitter and surly, unwilling to take his infirmity with dignity. This has led to an isolation from the already ambiguous and uninviting world outside. His one saving grace is Summer, a woman’s who’s affections for Lewi have over time become pity and frustration. Now, with their connection based solely on a tragic event and a pivotal misunderstanding Lewi’s frustrations take the better of him as he takes advantage of Summer in a shocking and violent turn of events.
The film is a psyche-suspense nightmare which will throw you into the depths of Lewi's madness, a visceral dreamesque dive into the existence of a blind person. Using special techniques which test the traditional film model, the film aims to push boundaries of how we absorb film visually. Self-imposed restrictions which we need to work around will help define the world Lewi lives in. Just like a blind person adapts to their restrictions of vision, we need to work within new boundaries to make the correlating film of his experience. All sound will be recorded on set during primary shooting, no foley, no ADR (except for internal dialogue). Without giving too much away, vision will be live-action stop-motion delivered through the mind of a blind person.
We'll be using 3D-binaural sound recording to achieve precision directionalisation of sound and slit-scanning image capture to create a dreamlike state of existence. Sure to create a unique film!

The budget for the film is $20,000 of which $15,000 has been achieved through self-funding. Completion of the film will require an additional $5,000 which we're seeking through Pozible crowd funding (THIS MEANS YOU!). This will go towards post-production (ie. editing, effects, colour grading, music, sound, and distribution). The target includes 10% tax.
