WHAT IS 72&Rising? 
72&Rising is a quarterly magazine that has been in publication since 2010.  As an independently produced magazine and website we are entirely self funded and our staff all work on a voluntary basis.  We offer fresh and exciting journalistic articles covering travel, culture, photography and wildlife all based around water.  Its a truly unique concept all bound up in an visually stunning coffee table style publication. 

Water covers 72% of our planet…and it’s rising. Water is essential to all aspects of our lives. We swim in it, we bathe in it, it sustains us. When it freezes we play on it, and we build vessels to sail through it. We travel far and wide to see the creatures that live beneath it and we fight hard to save the beauty that is within it.

To date we have produced nine quality issues that can be found via our website www.72andrising.com with our next issue out at the end of July. We have had a fantastic response from '72' so far from both contributors and readers alike.  We are produced as a collectors set, organised with 4 issues in each volume.




OUR MISSION:
We have three main aims:
1) To correct the disconnect that exists between the scientific community and the general public
2) To foster an awareness and an appreciation for our water environments
3) To assist in conservation and education efforts around the world both financially and practically




SO WHY DO WE NEED EXTRA FUNDING?
As an independently produced publication we have no large financial backers.  As relative newbies on the block we are caught in a catch 22 cycle where we need to invest our time and energies into website content, publishing options, marketing, sales, advertising to bring in money to support ourselves but also dedicate time to the publication of the magazine itself. We just cant do it all.  So, we need more experts in their field to share the workload from the key core personal and enable each person to do their job to the best of their abilities.  We have a lot of plans for 72 in the future: print, tablet applications, funding water projects around the world.  All this will come. For now we are getting our core strong so that we can expand to help others when the time is right. 




SO, DOWN TO THE NITTY GRITTY.  THE FINANCES.
$35,000 seems like a lot of money for online media doesnt it?  But quality doesnt come cheap. What will this enable us to do? Firstly our fantastic staff and freelancers that have so generously dedicated their time and talents so far will finally receive a return for future work.  Then there are the regular business expenses: insurance, admin overheads, website costs, equipment, training that all needs to be paid for.  This sum is the barebones that we need to really give 72 the boost that will enable us to provide you with more of what you want to read.  By receiving this sum we will be able to provide core editorial staff to increase the quantity and expand the scope of our coverage.  Plus there are Pozible fees that will be taken out of the final amount - around $4,000

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DO NOT REACH OUR TARGET?
Pozzible will return your funds and we sadly will not see a cent.
