Hi all,

Big Ideas Project Mildura is a collective started by Kirsty Buchecker and James Price late in 2012 in an attempt to activate people from all over our community to have a say in the issues that impact on our region.  Healthy  democracy and diversity of opinion  is important and we thought a magazine which encourages you, the citizen journalist would be a good way to start.

We gave it a shot in November 2012 with our first small publication but now we are going to the press again. Using newspaper stock, Big Ideas Project Magazine feels a bit grown up now!

In order to keep our paper completely independent we are shying away from advertising and asking for your support through crowd funding to retain this independence.

For our next edition we have received contributions from the Deputy Mayor, our newest "Blow in," Saylor Rose has had a chat to us about moving to Mildura, Karen Doyle from Mildura Arts Centre catches us up on what's happening in the new MAC Theatre this year, plus we explore what makes certain buildings and landmarks special and unique to communities.

In a region where diversity of opinion sometimes lacks, we want to work together to publish your contributions. Draw it, write it, contribute however you want to our pages. This is why we would appreciate your financial support.

Your financial contribution will allow us to print a 16 page half tabloid sized publication on newspaper stock.
We can achieve a print run of 1000 copies for $550.

The costs will include:
Approx $480 printing
Approx  $20 postage from Melbourne
Approx  $50 to reward our graphic designer for putting it all together.
