Welcome to my debut Pozible campaign for my debut album! I have
spent more than two years working on my album ‘I Hope You’ll Be Very
Unhappy Without Me” and am proud to announce it is finally finished! The album has been recorded,
mixed and mastered, the artwork is done and I’m thrilled with the final result! I now just need the
funds to press the album to vinyl and CD and would love your help!
This project has been a labor of love and I have completely self–funded the album recording. I am not signed to any label or management company so I have been able to make every creative decision myself along the way. I have decided to release the music on my own label – so this record will be the first title on my own imprint, which I am naming ‘House of Valerie Joan’ (after my paternal and maternal grandmothers respectively).
I’m really proud of the final recordings and just can’t wait to have the songs transformed to a physical release. Once we hit the target I will throw a fabulous launch party and you will all be able to take home copies of the album on either CD or vinyl.
A bit about the album:
- The album contains 10 tracks inspired by seventies blacksploitation soundtracks, funk, afrobeat and sixties soul jazz, eight of my original songs and two cover songs.
- The album artwork is inspired by three rock star divorcés - Priscilla Presley, Cher and Bianca Jagger. The album is named after one my favorite Esther Phillips tracks which I recorded for the album “I Hope You’ll Be Very Unhappy Without Me”.

-The album features some of Australia’s finest soul musicians including Lance Ferguson on guitar (The Bamboos), Ivan ‘Choi’ Khatchoyan on drums (True Live/Candice Monique and the Optics), Jake Mason (Cookin’ on 3 Burners) on keys, Lucas Taranto on bass (Gotye) plus Michelle Martinez (The Voice) on backing vocals.

How The Funds Will Be Used
The
funds will enable me to press the album to vinyl and CD so that I can sell my
music at gigs and in stores. The funds will also go towards promotion and
publicity for the album launch party held in Melbourne!
Vinyl Pressing: $3500
CD Pressing: $2000
Album launch show promotion: (Posters, publicity fees and radio advertisements on RRR FM and PBS FM) $1500
Additional funds raised over the target will go towards further promotion of the album and advertising costs including fees, fliers and promo copies for media.

The Challenges
The album is finished, it is all ready to go! The challenge is now raising the funds for the pressing and promotion! I truly hope the album preview and rewards entice you to pledge! and you needn't stop at one pledge- think about Christmas planning and other events. Pick up one of two 'Through With Lovin' You' 7" test pressings! Plain wax with no label, just scribble on the inner straight from the plant with the date and name inscribed. TPs are made to check you are happy with the sound before they hit go on the whole order! Luckily, the tests came out Ok so it sounds good! Possibly a collectors item, you never know, could be worth something some day ;) I have sold out of 45s' so this could be your only chance of owning the single on wax! Comes with LP!
