STRAYS short film
Thanks for taking the time to check out the campaign! I'm incredibly excited to share my new short film with you lot! It's shaping up to be a most promising film indeed and we have huge hopes for its success in the future. I had actually intended to shoot STRAYS two years ago as my debut short film, but for financial reasons had to post-pone it. Instead, I made my much more simple, one-location short YESTERDAY'S NEWS which went on to tour the film festival circuit in the U.S.A and won me a Director's Choice award last September. Thankfully, those extra years in film limbo, gave me time to really work out the story I wanted to tell and the script for STRAYS tightened and developed into a piece of work that most find quite touching and that I am incredibly proud of.
The production of the film is now complete, and was shot over 5 consecutive days in my small hometown of Bacchus Marsh in early February and we are now well into the post-production process, with very pleasing results so far!
As this was my first film since Graduating the Bachelor of Film and Television at Swinburne University, no equipment was provided and to this point, the entire film's budget has been self-funded by myself from work savings. However, I am now looking for some outside help to ensure the film can reach it's full potential! Anything you could spare would go very far in helping this film reach its full potential and will ultimately further the career of the cast and crew. Thanks very much guys! Much love.
-Steve Tandy
Writer/Director/Co-Producer/Co-Editor, STRAYS

THE FILM
STRAYS is set in a small suburban town in the Western Suburbs of Victoria and focuses on two young outcasts, Riley and Ruby, who after a chance encounter, get caught up in each other’s lives full of shame, revenge, regret and violence, but attempt to give each other hope along the way. Please have a look at these purposefully ambiguous teaser trailers, to see the potential this film is having already! Note, these trailers only show the low quality, un-graded footage.
