Music Industry College is an accredited Independent Non-State School and is a member of Independent Schools Queensland. Music Industry College is governed by an eight-member board and is a totally independent school. For the first time ever in 2014, MIC will have it's own brand new campus, located in the heart of the Brisbane live music hub, Fortitude Valley in Berwick St, opening in October.

With this brand new facility comes a brand new set of opportunities for the students of MIC. Already approved to be able to hold Live Music Events in the new facility, the students will be booking, running and curating under 18's gigs weekly. They will have the ability to not only perform their own music in this facility, but they will have the opportunity to host, market and co-ordinate gigs featuring locally and nationally-recognised touring bands. This facility will be entirely run by and for the students of the college as well as the not-yet-18 music loving community of Brisbane.

All of this requires professional-quality equipment - and right now, the facility is a blank room! Music Industry College and it's board are putting in a significant amount towards the project but the funds won't quite get the equipment needed to make the room what it needs to be, so MIC is opening it's arms to anyone who would like to contribute in exchange for awesome rewards!

Music Industry College is a small school batting way above it's average. For a senior school not even 5 years into it's existence and with only 72 students - the school has achieved much, with students past and present excelling not only in their studies, but also in the music industry, business and sporting fields.

The Funds raised will be used to fit out the performance space at the Berwick St, Fortitude Valley facility with a stage large enough to accommodate touring artists, as well as a PA and lighting equipment that will take the students' knowledge and skills as well as the audience's live music experience to the next level.

The obstacles to success that we can foresee for this project is that perhaps you as the pledger may not be able to "see" the building as it is not completed yet - it is in construction currently. We wanted to paint you a very vivid picture of what the facility will look, feel and sound like once it is in operation, hence our Video does it's best to illustrate the culture, experience, staff and facilities of the school and the good will that goes along with the school and the community around it.
