Guerilla Zingari are recording a long awaited second album!
We are really excited about this and hope you will be too! This album will be full of fresh new material and one nostalgic cover song that will give you goose bumps. We have some new and old flavours incorporated into these new and never before heard tunes.
This album will have more worldly influences, we'll be incorporating elements and flavours such as latin, balkan gypsy, some spanish and french language, raucous ballroom waltz's, 5 part barber shop harmonies and rollicking country western surfer folk.
Recording our new material will give us a fresh opportunity to share our current incarnation with the world, and we plan to take our little taste of tassie to the rest of Australia during the summer festival season and beyond!


Over the last year our sound has evolved a lot, we have incorporated new elements, had different influences and have really gotten to know each other (a month in a van together definitely helped this process! ;-) . Becoming so much more comfortable with each other has really brought our sound together, and has added a new fluency to our playing, songwriting and communication. We've had quite a few developments since the release of our debut album. Including our very talented violin player as a permanent member was a big one, and it's definitely time to make our second album. 

The recording will take place as soon as we have the funding which, if all goes to plan, will be late September, October will be for mixing, mastering and printing/pressing and an early November album release. We plan to record the album in Hobart with local producer and engineer Al Campbell and have it mastered by Crystal Mastering in Melbourne.

Here's a little breakdown of exactly how the money you pledge will be put to use:

$4000 - Tracking and mixing the 10 song album
$800 - Mastering the album
$200 - Paying the licensing royalties for recording our own version of Edith Paif's 'Non Je Ne Regrette Rien'
$1500 - Printing and pressing the album
$1200 - Pozible & transaction fees, postage and merch expenses
$49 - CD baby distribution
$751 - Promotion and publicity - (this is a very small promo budget but every cent will be put to good use!)

I believe that comes to $8500 exactly! :)

Challenges.... hmmm, our challenges are, first an foremost, gaining the funds to be able to go ahead with this project - This is where you come in!! :D haha
Other than that, the challenges that we face in the process of the project will be working to a strict time frame when there is so much to be done, we tend to work well under pressure but that doesn't mean it's not stressful and a bit of a challenge! We all get along well and are supportive of each other. When we have differences of opinion in the arrangement of songs and what not, we generally deal with it in a very diplomatic way and find a way that everyone can be happy, this will help us along with making our deadlines and such.
