In 2013 we will work with a group of youth from across the Mackay region to create 'The Chorus' for the Mackay Festival of Arts. The performance has already undergone a Creative Development in 2012 and we now have a cast of talented and eager young people who want to continue this project. We have support from The Mackay Festival of Arts (programming), The Mackay Convention and Entertainment Centre (venue) and Pioneer High School (rehearsal venue). We applied for several grants to support the rest of our expenses, but unfortunately we were unsuccessful this year. We have since reconfigured our budget, cutting out everything but the necessities: WE NOW NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO PAY FOR THE COSTUMES, SET, PROPS, LIGHTING AND TECHNICAL STAFF ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRODUCTION.

ABOUT 'THE CHORUS':

It’s a party gone wrong. A contemporary mash up of Medea and media—where the Greek myth Medea meets the modern-day addiction to online social media. In this world, the actors obsess over Facebook friends and pop celebrities they barely know, watching their every move, commenting from behind a touch screen. What happens when tragedy strikes in the distance? Does the party continue, or will the music stop?
